FLO + THE COUTURE

i LOVE her style, possible more than i love her music.

they describe her style as indie. i would describe her as flower-girl-hippy, from the South of somewhere, en route to the Big City!

SYMMETRICAL . COUTURE

Jessica White. Sexy, lingerie model. are the asymmetrical shapes in contrast with the metallic working? Does it make her look off-balance? or is she right on point?

MASCULINE FEMININITY . COUTURE

a girl dressed as a guy? sexy, fashion forward, stylish, chic.

a guy dressed as a girl? not so much.

Ladies have such an advantage when it comes to fashion, we can basically wear anything and make it look fabulous. I remember being 6 years old thinking "I'm so lucky to be a girl! I can wear skirts, and dresses (and skorts) and boys dont!" I was so excited about my many wardrobe options.

CHARITABLE . FASHIONABLE . COUTURE . PART DEUX

These bags, at a lower price point than the first bags I wrote about, serve the same exact purpose. They are handmade and the money you spend on the bag goes right back to helping the women who made them. :)

CHARITABLE . FASHIONABLE . COUTURE

The Madera Weekender  is made in Nepal in South Asia. Every piece of these bags are handmade from vintage fabrics, so no two bags are alike!

Sophia Costas is a NY-based designer. Sophia Costas returns part of the company profits to a charity called Azahar located in Cambodia. Azahar is an international organization that promotes cross-cultural communication and non-violent conflict resolution through yoga and the arts.

The price may be a bit steep, but I think it is well worth it! You can't put a price on being gracious, the universe will reward your charitable acts even more graciously.

Wednesday

ACCESSORIES . COUTURE

I'm not big on accessories, I'll admit. I'm more interested in the bigger picture, and not so much the details. BUT I'm infatuated by jewelry by a designer named Venessa Arizaga.  They are so original, and a bit nostalgic - these pieces are like the modern day charm bracelet, with a major fashion update!

These one-of-a-kind necklaces and bracelets by are just the thing to take your outfit from a 10 to an 11! :)

INDIVIDUALITY.COUTURE

How do you express your individuality? At what age did you become your own person?

Willow Smith (daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith) wears her heart on her sleeve! Literally, her expression of her individuality is in her electic style and, one-of-a-kind style choices (see above)

If she can do that, at just 9 years old, can do this in front of millions - you should have no problem displaying what makes YOU, YOU!

5 REASONS I LOVE THE HILLS

OK! So, after the sunshine vortex that was THE HILLS marathon all weekend long, I've come up with the top 5 reasons as to why I friggin love this show soo much!

1. The theme song - Natasha Beddignfields "Unwritten" come on! There is no better theme song. The song is actually the theme song to my life!

2. Heidi's Hair - Say what you want about all of her other fake extremities, but her hair? Dynamite.

3. JUSTIN BOBBY! - Need I say more?

4. The Soundtrack - I've discovered so much new music from just 1 season. Well, it is on MTV so I supposed music should be incorporated some where!

5. The ridiculous one-liners - Too many to list, obviously! But here's a gem from my favorite cast member Spencer Pratt, "I can't make you un-my sister

BONUS

The fact that they think Heidi's sister is an alcoholic! I just think she has the right idea. Perhaps she's the only one of them that actually went to college, in which case - what would they think of the alcohol enthusiatic college kids I've encountered? One can only wonder....

FASHION'S NIGHT OUT 2010 . COUTURE (via nymag.com)

How excitingggg!!! FASHION'S NIGHT OUT will be back this year!! Revamped, at that..

Fashion’s Night Out, the big shop-hopping party dreamed up by Anna Wintour and her industry friends last year, is really planning to outdo itself this time around.
To mark the September 10 celebration of shopping, fashion, and celebrities, not only will there be anFNO clothing line (okay, shirts and hoodies) and aone-hour CBS special documenting the event, but now it’s been announced that a huge public fashion show, involving over 200 top models and 1,500 random ticket-holding guests, will take place on September 7 at New York Fashion Week's new home, Lincoln Center.
As for the clothing, it’ll be a mash-up of pieces from different designers, handpicked by Vogue editors to educate the masses on the fall 2010 trends. How very democratic!
We're just hoping attendees don’t all consist of investment-bankers-and-their-girlfriends types.
Tickets for the show — which is completely exciting just for the 200 models alone — will be available at the Lincoln Center box office this summer.
The night will be produced by Vogue and SPEC entertainment, a company that’s done events forTom FordVera WangDKNYStella McCartney, and Marchesa, and a portion of the ticket proceeds will go to the New York City AIDS Fund.
